The Finish Line isn’t a comeback story. It’s a continuation—one that took a while to find its footing.

Frontman Rob Ash spent the time away raising two sons—and in learning how to be a father, he found a depth and clarity that no stage ever gave him. Shane Kinney also stepped back from playing, but never left the music world. He built the world’s largest resource for drummers who care about tone, feel, and gear that actually matters.

Guitarist Ray Suhy never stopped. He kept pushing—touring and recording with Six Feet Under, exploring jazz, and teaching guitar to players all over the world. His chops never left the battlefield.

Now, the three of them are back in the same room, tracking their debut as The Finish Line with longtime collaborator Jonathan Wyman, the producer/engineer behind their earliest work.

No label. No playbook. No apologies.

The band will enter the studio in May 2025 to record their debut album with engineer and co-producer Jonathan Wyman (Colepitz, The Pretty Reckless). The album will also feature songwriting contributions from Grammy-winning artist Dave Gutter (Rustic Overtones).
